Friends of Passmores
The Friends of Passmores School Association (FoPSA) is a charity run by a combination of parents/carers and staff members. It provides an opportunity for members of the Passmores community to get involved in the life of the school by providing activities and events for students, staff, parents and the local community. We always welcome new members of the committee.
The Friends of Passmores meet each half-term to co-ordinate the organisation of events such as:
- quiz nights
- race nights
- casino nights
- the Christmas Fayre
- family karaoke evening
- the Halloween Disco
- the Valentines / Hollywood Disco
- the rounders / barbecue / disco for Year 6 - 8 students
The Friends also provide refreshments at school events including shows, concerts and open evening.
“In 2018 staff and students alike were thrilled by the generous donations of nearly £7000, that enabled the school to begin, continue and/or develop provision for young people at the school. From the purchase of our very own crying babies, to vital curriculum-supporting materials in Science, Computing, PE and English, there is barely an area of the school that has not felt the benefit of the FOPs this year. Students are regularly heard thumping out rhythms on their African drums or are seen printing beautiful, creative work in Art. Students pore over reading matter sourced through the Friends’ generous support of English initiatives, which are having a tangible impact, and the brand new PE wear for the Girls Football Team has already seen glory, being worn as they picked up the Essex Cup for the first time in the school’s history.” – Principal’s Report 2018
