On Thursday evening, the school hosted a warm and welcoming social evening for the parents & carers of year 7 and 8 students.The event provided an excellent opportunity for parents, teachers, and pastoral staff to meet informally at the start of the academic year and to discuss students’ early progress and settling-in experiences.
As parents and carers were welcomed into the heart space they were offered refreshments, a chance to see photos of their young people in action during the school day and they also collected a letter to them personally from their young person detailing how they feel about their first few weeks of the new school year.
Throughout the evening, there was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Parents commented on how much they appreciated the chance to speak with teachers outside of a formal setting and to gain insight into how their children are adapting to secondary school life. Teachers were equally pleased to meet parents face-to-face and to share positive feedback about students’ enthusiasm, engagement, and growing confidence.
