All the World's a Stage...
A travelling theatre company visited us today to perform a version of Romeo and Juliet with a twist today. Turning the Sports Hall into an impromptu arena for drama, they whizzed through the play (which our students are due to be examined on), pausing to explore staging and character.
Witness the fight scene in slow motion, with characters speaking their hidden thoughts. Peer at the balcony scene played and replayed as you have never seen it before - in the style of Eastenders, Family Guy and even Ali G! Gasp at the high speed conclusion of the play, with students chipping in with their performances as the body count rises.
Followed by a question and answer session carefully dovetailed to the exam requirements, Year 11 students were left with a clear vision of the play and the deep currents running beneath its surface.
