He's all 'art

Lucky Passmores staff and students attended a lecture given by top heart Surgeon, Francis Wells, this week, as part of the Prince's Teaching Institute Lectures.

Aimed at able GCSE and A Level students, the lecture revealed how it is Mr Wells' interest in art, not just science, that helps him save lives.  This might be a surprise, but Mr Wells said that when faced with a patient with a condition never before seen, the textbooks of the past will only take you so far towards a solution...it is imagination that helps scientific discoveries to happen, and for him, his imagination was fired by his study of famous artist, Leonardo Da Vinci.

Thank goodness Mr Wells has chosen to pass on his secret to potential doctors of the future!
