My name is John Steadman, a Harlow boy who joined Passmores in the autumn of 2014. I teach Computer Science and love to watch those students who achieve that “light Bulb” moment in my lessons. I like to build things, ride my bicycle and play board games.
As a form tutor, I always try to use my own life experiences to help guide the members of my form. I have not always been a teacher I have worked in industry as a Production and quality engineer, l was responsible for; the development of efficient production methods and the training of apprentices. I really enjoy having those conversations with my form dealing with the lessons in life that they realize they DON’T know, and take as many opportunities as possible discussing the implications of the Thought for the Week and the daily news topics which are presented on the BBC.
However, a lot of my time in form is used up dealing with the day-to-day routines: Making sure my tutees are correctly presented, properly equipped, and full prepared for the day and weeks ahead. This is where the parents can help out! And naturally, I’m always available if parents need to contact me for any issues that may arise by either phone or email. I will endeavour solve the issue as efficiently and professionally as possible. I look forward to hearing from you.
