Hello and welcome to 11D2.

My name is Joyce Powell and I am a geography and i-Future teacher here at Passmores Academy. I accepted my first ever teaching post at this school back in 2004 and have not looked back since. I have had numerous pastoral roles throughout this time ranging from Assistant Head of KS3, Head of Dragon House for four years and now thankfully, I have been given the opportunity, along with Mr Pickering, to lead and guide 11D2 through their last year. My experience at this school will hopefully stand to me and with your continued support, we can all see your child leave this school knowing they gave it their all during this final push.

I thrive on this aspect of school life and preparing the students for their most important academic year to date is something I take seriously and will do wholeheartedly. Communication is key; I strongly encourage you as the parent/carer and the tutees to please contact me to discuss any aspect of school life that is causing concern at any time no matter how trivial you, or they think it may be. We are on this journey together.

My name is Mr Pickering, and I whole heartedly endorse what Mrs Powell says about the importance of the role of the tutor in helping guide students to success next summer. As an Associate Senior Leader and Head of History, I bring academic experience to the team and would hope that our tutees will make use of this as they prepare for their final exams.

Here’s to a happy and healthy Year 11.
